General/Sedative Anesthesia
In general, Asian noses are very different from Caucasian noses in many aspects.
The overlying skin and cartilage are the main differential factors and therefore,
rhinoplasty methods should also differ according to the conditions.
Blunt and wide nose tip can make the nostrils look large and also give a dull and plain image.
Therefore, blunt tip reduction surgery is necessary in order to refine the nose for
a more sophisticated appearance.
Have wide and blunt nose tip
Have high nasal bridge but spread-out nose tip
Have droopy nose tip
Blunt or round nasal tip is a common attribute found from many people. Such tip is caused when the nostril cartilage is too small while the skin is thick.
If the patient has wide nostrils, nostril reduction surgery should be enforced with tip correction.
When blunt tip reduction and nostril reduction are performed together, it brings out a more satisfactory surgery outcome.
Wide nasal cartilage is trimmed and tied together
in order to create a narrower tip.
Then ear or septal cartilage is engrafted in between the nasal
cartilage to serve as a support to strengthen the narrower tip.
Nasal cartilage is trimmed then both trimmed
sides are sutured together.
It naturally raises the nasal septum to create a slimmer tip.
Subcutaneous fats and skin tissues are excised
before raising the nose tip.
In the case where nasal bridge augmentation surgery is
to be performed together, ear or septal cartilage are engrafted
on the nose tip for a smooth and refined nasal slope.
