Lateral canthoplasty incisions are made on the inner conjunctiva
of the outer corner of eyes, and it creates horizontally wider
looking eyes.
This procedure is commonly done with Hotz canthoplasty together
for optimum results wherein both horizontal and vertical length can increase.
Have narrow width of eyes
Don’t have significant eyes expansion effect after epicanthoplasty
Have short width between the eyes, unable to have epicanthoplasty
Have slanted-eyes
Have little exposure of the sclera (white of the eyes),
making them appear cross-eyed
The disadvantage of the preceding lateral canthoplasty method was
that the excised skin often got back together again in the process of recovery.
However, Wonjin’s exclusive Lateral Canthoplasty method eliminates
the tissues that lead to the reattachment of the excised skin to prevent
such problems.
