What is Two Jaw
(Total Maxillofacial)
Surgery?

Usually, those with protruded mouth have protruded cheekbones as well.
In this case, ordinary facial contouring surgery alone is not enough to provide dramatic
surgical outcomes.

WONJIN’s total Maxillofacial or Two Jaw Surgery involves in giving resolutions for both
aesthetic and functional problems at the same time.

Surgical Methods of
Two jaw surgery

    • IVRO (Intraoral Vertical Ramus Osteotomy)
    • IVRO (Intraoral Vertical Ramus Osteotomy)

    METHOD 01

    IVRO (Intraoral Vertical
    Ramus Osteotomy)

IVRO is a method of Two Jaw Surgery that vertically fractures the posterior
section of the mandibular bone. It avoids using plates or wires as a fixator
to allow for the jaw to function naturally after the procedure,
which is much more convenient for patients during post surgical recovery.

Additionally, the fracture line on the posterior section provides a slimming
effect and it moves the lower jaw to the backward to improve with
    protruded lower jaw.

    METHOD 02

    SSRO (Sagittal Split
    Ramus Osteotomy)

SSRO is a method that fractures the mandible near the molar,
and the bone is fractured in two sections and removed,
    then reconnected for fixation.

This method is known for its short recovery period, because the
reattachment area has a larger surface area which helps the bones adhere
    more effectively for faster recovery.

Additionally, postoperative oral-fixation period is considerably short.

    METHOD 03

    Two Jaw Surgery

Two jaw surgery is known as orthogenetic surgery which helps to improve
both upper and lower jaw at the same time.

After making an incision inside of the mouth is made, the upper and lower
    jaws are fractured.

Then the bone will be moved to the most appropriate position.
In order to prevent this position from shifting, metal pins will be fixed.

    activity

  • Complete Fixation Method

Fixate jaws: Tie upper teeth and
    the lower teeth together

    Rely on breathing through nose

Can take only liquid food with
    straw in between the teeth

    Communication is inconvenient,
not able to return to everyday
activity in short period of time

  • Self-Fixation Method

    Partially fixate using rubber
    band

    Possible to breathe through
    both nose and mouth as
    usual

Possible to open mouth to eat

    freely communicate, able to
    return to everyday activity in
    short period of time

  • Non-Fixation Method

    No jaw fixation

    Possible to breathe through
    both nose and mouth as
    usual

    Possible to open mouth to
    eat

    freely communicate,
    able to return to everyday
activity in short period of time

Pre-existing complete fixation method disabled food intake and daily activities immediately after surgery.
But with the development of technology and surgery skills of WONJIN, self fixation and non-fixation methods enable easier jaw movement and return to
daily activities such as eating, talking, oral rinsing after the surgery.
