Our country has many broadcasting companies and programs. Ground wave, total T.V, cable, satellite, etc are available and we have endless

amount of programs. There are various kinds of news, drama, education, movies, etc that are played.

Within these programs, there is a hot topic-cosmetic surgery. The surgeries done by celebrities are always on the news and entertainment

programs, and make over programs where average people are chosen to receive surgery are becoming more popular.

There are many different ways to talk about cosmetic surgery such as make over shows, celebrities’ experience, botched surgeries, foreign

customers’ medical tourism, and two jaw surgeries which are becoming a big issue these days.

Recently, foreign countries are becoming interested in Korea plastic surgery and often visit to film. There are requests from not just China,

but US, Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia, and even Arab countries.

They are usually interested in Korean cosmetic surgery clinics’ large size, facilities, and tremendous changes in the before and after cosmetic

surgery appearances. They also want to shoot how the cosmetic surgery clinics are very common to the average people. Two jaw and facial

contouring surgeries, which correct the facial bone structure, are the most popular in question.

Like this, cosmetic surgery is growing in popularity all over the world, and people say programs were the most responsible for that. A celebrity

that I see oftenan actor I admire comes clean about receiving surgery on TV one day. I could not hold in my surprise at first, but as the number of

celebrities telling the truth about plastic surgery, average people are receiving surgeries and becoming like celebrities.

Programs are targeting people who wish to look like celebrities by using the power of sight. The TV creates content focused on cosmetic surgery,

and the audience who watch these programs are more interested in receiving surgery. It increases an audience rating which is like a cycle that

causes other programs to also create content focused on plastic surgery.

The problem is that programs are trying to create stimulating content to increase audience ratings. The interesting fact is that content

recommending cosmetic surgery and not recommending surgery share the same exaggerated description.

Some programs exaggerate that cosmetic surgery can fix everything, and some programs overly warn the risks and the side effects of two jaw

surgery, portraying it like a must-not-do surgery, although some people may well need it.

Most of the audience believes programs to tell the truth which means the content on these programs should be considered carefully and close to

the truth. Programs that introduce cosmetic surgeries need to have the correct information because it’s not just about fun and ratings.
