What is Breast Lifting?
With age and pregnancy, breast tissue and skin lose elastic fibers which cause the breasts to droop. Breast lifting helps saggy breasts to regain their elasticity and volume. It is also common among women who lose weight suddenly, and for women who have large breasts that went through pregnancy and breast feeding. Breast lift can also be done after breast reduction surgery to correct drooped breasts.
Recommended for those who
  1. 1. Have extreme mastoptosis (drooped breasts)
  2. 2. Want to correct drooped breasts (especially due to breast-feeding)
  3. 3. Have lost breast elasticity

Levels of breast sagging

Stage A mastoptosis
The nipple is above the inframammary fold or dropped less than 1cm from inframammary fold
Stage B mastoptosis
The nipple is above the inframammary fold, and most of the breast tissue is still above the fold as well
Stage C mastoptosis
The nipple is below over than 3cm from the inframammary fold and may even point downward
Normality. A. B. C.

Incision Methods

  • Vertical Incision (Vertical Scar Technique)
    Case of oversized breasts
Would like to retain breast-feeding potential
Though it may leave minor scarring after the operation, surgeons strongly recommend this method because it shortens operation time and less/no complication occur.
    Vertical Incision (Vertical Scar Technique)
    Surgical Method

01.Design the surgical area → 02.Incise vertically → 03. Excise part of skin around nipple and areola → 04.Partial fat and mammary gland tissue removal → 05. Replacement of nipple and areola → 06.Suture the incision site

  • Areola Incision (Inferior Pedicle Technique)

    Case of slightly/not-so oversized breasts
    Sensitive about leaving scars
Would like to retain breast-feeding potential

    Areola Incision (Inferior Pedicle Technique)
    Surgical Method

01.Design the surgical area → 02.Incise around areola → 03. Excise part of skin around nipple and areola → 04.Partial fat and mammary gland tissue removal → 05. Suture the incision site

  • Complex Incision (Inferior Pedicle Technique)

Case of excessively oversized and drooped breast
    Appropriate for breasts lacking elasticity
Expect dramatic downsizing of the breast
    Not sensitive about scars remaining

    Complex Incision (Inferior Pedicle Technique)
    Surgical Method

01.Design the surgical area → 02.Incise around areola, vertically from areola and horizontally along the breast line → 03. Partial fat and mammary gland tissue removal → 04.Partial fat and mammary gland tissue removal → 05. Suture the incision site

General complications : bleeding, infection, and inflammation may occur after surgical procedure
