• 1 General Discharge Precautions

    DIET

    - 1~2 days after discharge, start liquid food diet (porridge and similar soft foods) should be eaten while avoiding crunchy or hard foods

    - Non irritating and non-greasy foods are allowed.

    - Carbonated drinks and coffee are allowed 2 weeks after discharge, alcohol and smoking is prohibited for 2 weeks after surgery.

     

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - When face washing, make sure water does not enter the surgical part and do not rub hard but clean gently with wet tissues or wet towel

    - Showering is available the day of surgery (Depends on the surgery). However, hot saunas, public bathhouses should be avoided for 2 weeks after surgery.

     

    SLEEPING

    - In case of swelling remaining, the body should be raised 15 degrees while sleeping. This aids in comfortable swelling reduction.

    - 2-3 cushions, pillows or blankets placed on the back while sleeping is recommended.

    - Lay flat while sleeping while avoiding lowering the neck and/or the surgical area getting pressed.

     

    FACIAL SWELLING (degree of swelling can vary by individual)

    - Swelling begins to subside after 1 week. Use a ice pack for 2-3 days after discharge.

    - Facial bandage should be kept on until treatment and afterwards does not need to be used.

    - If facial bandage causes headaches, momentarily undoing and redoing the bandage is allowed.

     

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION 

    - Take medication for the prescribed number of days. Medication should be taken 3 times in 1 day, 30 minutes after meals.

    - Take painkillers only when pain is present and should be taken in 8~10 hour intervals.

  • 2 Eye Discharge Precautions

    DIET

    - Normal diet can be started after discharge. Avoid inflammatory foods such as spicy, salty, and greasy foods

    - Carbonated drinks and coffee are allowed after stitch removal, alcohol and smoking is prohibited for 2 weeks after surgery..

     

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - Light showering is available the day of surgery. However, hot saunas or public bathhouses should be avoided for 2 weeks after surgery.

    - Face washing is available day after stitch removal. (eye mucus can be cleaned with a cotton swab.)

    - Concerning make up, eye shadow should be used at least 3-4 days after stitch removal.

     

    SLEEPING

    - In case of swelling remaining, the body should be raised while sleeping.

    - Avoid pressure on eyes by not sleeping facedown, instead sleep lying on your back.

     

    FACIAL SWELLING (degree of swelling can vary by individual)

    - Swelling on the left and right can differ after surgery. Please allow swelling to settle over few months.

    - Bruising can occur in the surgical area. This should subside in 2-4 weeks 

    (individual cases can vary.)

    - Please do not put pressure on your eyes or rub them.

    - Ice pack massage 3-4 days is recommended for better results.

    - Depending on the surgery, the conjunctiva can swell and appear red. This will subside over time.

     

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

    - Take medication for the prescribed number of days (prescribed days can vary depending on surgical area.) Medication should be taken 3 times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

    - Take painkillers only when pain is present and should be taken in 8~10 hour intervals.

    - In case of prescription eye drops, these should be administered 4 times a day
    (breakfast, lunch, dinner, before sleeping).

    - Prescribed medication can be changed.

     

    OTHER PRECAUTIONS

    - Light activity is advised, intense activity is possible after one month. (Walking and similar activity is recommended)

  • 3 Nose Discharge Precautions

    DIET

    - Normal diet can be started after discharge. Avoid inflammatory foods such as spicy, salty, and greasy foods

    - Carbonated drinks and coffee are allowed after stitch removal, alcohol and smoking is prohibited for 1month after surgery.

     

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - Light showering is available the day of surgery. However, saunas should be avoided for one month after surgery.

    - Face washing and make up is possible the day after stitch removal.

     

    SLEEPING

    - In case of swelling remaining, the body should be raised 15 degrees while sleeping. This aids in swelling reduction.

    - 2-3 cushions, pillows or blankets placed on the back while sleeping is recommended.

    - Take painkillers only when pain is present and should be taken in 8~10 hour intervals.

     

    AFTER DISCHARGE MANAGEMENT

    - Glasses can be worn one month after discharge.

    - Exercise is possible but be careful not to allow bumping or stress on the nose. Considering these limitations, cardio exercise is recommended.

    - Activities that can irritate the inside of your nose such as blowing your nose excessively or picking at the nose with a cotton swab should be avoided. Nose secretions, secretions from the scarred area should not be forcibly removed.

    - Sudden swelling of the nose, redness in nose painful on touch or burning sensation occurs please schedule a visit.

  • 4 Facial Contour Discharge Precautions

    DIET

    - 1-2 days after discharge begin clear liquid diet (honey water, juice, milk, yogurt, rice gruel), 3-4 days begin full liquid diet (porridge and similar foods), 5-6 days begin normal diet (soft foods).

    - Crunchy/hard foods should be avoided.

    - Carbonated drinks and coffee are allowed after one month, alcohol and smoking is prohibited for 1 month after surgery.

    - Avoid inflammatory foods such as spicy, salty, greasy, and food with chunks.

    - Fruits with the seeds removed can be blended for easier intake. Banana and milk blended together is highly recommended.

     

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

    - Medication should be taken 3 times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

    - Prescription medication is only prescribed in 10 day dosage. No further prescription will be given.

    - Please be informed that excessive dairy intake can lead to diarrhea.

    - Take painkillers only when pain is present and should be taken in 8~10 hour intervals.

     

    SLEEPING

    - When breathing becomes comfortable, sleeping normally is possible.

    - Use a neck pillow to prevent any pressures on the face while sleeping.

    - 2-3 cushions, pillows or blankets placed on the back while sleeping is recommended.

    - Until the first postoperative visit, sleeping in a 15 degree increased upper body position is recommended for the better breathing and swelling reduction.

     

    FACIAL SWELLING (degree of swelling can vary by individual)

    - Ice pack massage should be done continuously for 2~3 days after discharge.

    - Blowing the nose is prohibited for 3 weeks after discharge.

    - The white bandage will be worn 48 hours after surgery. 

    Since then, only wear at night time for the next 7 days

    - Large mount of swelling around the jaw area usually begin to subside after 1~2 weeks and the swelling will subside to the bottom of the neck for a period of 1 month.

    - For 7~10 days after surgery, blood from the nasal cavity can appear while lowering the head or using mouthwash. This is normal and should not be worried about.

    - Please be aware that careless and excessive use of the compression bandage can cause scalp damage, and hair loss can occur.

    - Please remove the white band in every 3~4 hours and massage your scalp to prevent the hair loss.

     

    TOOTH BRUSHING AND MOUTHWASH (Hexidine mouthwash should be mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio)

    - Only gargling is allowed until the second postoperative visit. (Before stitch removal)

    - Gargle with water for 7 rounds, then with Hexamedine solution for 3 rounds. Lean your head to the left and to the right so the liquid can be spread inside the mouth while gargling.

    - Never gargle with making chewing motions to prevent any ruptures of the stitches. (Do not use straws before stitch removal.)

    - Hexamedine Solution should be used for 1 week after discharge. Regular gargle solution can be used from the second week.

    - 7 days after discharge, brushing teeth is possible using baby toothbrush (short and soft bristles) to gently brush teeth avoiding the gums.

     

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - Saunas and bathhouses are prohibited for 1 month.

    - Face washing is possible. Gentle washing and be sure not to apply pressure to swollen areas. (facial massages prohibited)

    - Washing hair should be done while standing up but do not put your dead downwards. Of possible, ask for help while washing.

    - Hair washing and light shower is available after discharge. For cheekbone reduction patients, hair washing is possible after the first postoperative visit and stitch removal.

    - For the patients who did cheekbone reduction surgery at the same time, washing hair is possible after attaching water-proof bandage if the stitches are sill on the surgical area. 

     

    OTHER PRECAUTIONS

    - 3 weeks after discharge, mouth opening practice should be actively done to prevent frog mouth symptoms. (You may experience discomfort in muscle movement, but this will improve over time and mouth opening should be consistently done for 3~6 months.)

    - Lip and face muscle exercise aids in swelling reduction and muscle recovery.

    - Light walking and similar activity is recommended. Intense activity is possible after one month.

  • 5 Breast Augmentation Discharge Precautions

    DIET

    - Normal diet can be started 8 hours after discharge. Avoid inflammatory foods such as spicy, salty, and greasy foods.

    - Carbonated drinks and coffee are allowed after stitch removal, alcohol and smoking is prohibited for 1 month after surgery.

     

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - Showering is available the day after stitch removal. Saunas should be avoided for one month after surgery.

    - Hair washing should be done with help from a guardian; hair washing should be done like a hair salon and arms should be used as minimally as possible.

     

    SLEEPING

    - In cases of drainage tube, using the arm will be difficult, therefore do not apply pressure on the arms while getting up and the body should be raised 15 degrees while sleeping. This aids in swelling reduction.

    - 2-3 cushions, pillows or blankets placed on the back while sleeping is recommended.

     

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

    - Take medication for the prescribed number of days. Medication should be taken 3 times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

    - Take painkillers only when pain is present and should be taken in 8~10 hour intervals.

    - Prescription Montezal -1 time a day before bedtime one pill. Begin taking as prescribed the day of first operative care visit.

     

    AFTER DISCHARGE MANAGEMENT

    - After 1-2 days of surgery, the hemovac (blood pocket) will be removed and depending on the amount, differences can occur.

    - After discharge, the hemovac will first be emptied after 4 hours, if the emptied volume is over 40cc, then the hemovac will be emptied again after 4 hours. If the volume is less than 40cc then it will be emptied every 8 hours. (after hemovac is emptied, once again check the lock valve in the middle line to make sure it is open. The valve must be in an open position)

    - The amount of blood will be checked by a syringe, please write it down and bring on postoperative visit day.

    - Supportive bra will be worn on the day after the surgery upto one week. From 1 week after the surgery, sport bra will be worn. Wired bra can be worn 6 months after surgery.

    - Tightness and a pulling sensation in the chest is part of the recovery process and should not be worried about.

    - Depending on doctor's instructions a bra can be worn.

    - Before and after the hemovac is removed excessive arm usage is prohibited.

    - Intense activities (golf, swimming, tennis, aerobics) should not be done for 1 month after surgery.

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - Light showering is possible the day after stitch removal, saunas and public bath houses are prohibited for one month.

     

    SLEEPING

    - For 2~3 weeks, you should sleep on your side.

    - While sitting down, make sure the implant is not compressed, use a cushion and be careful when seated.

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - 2~3 days after facial compressive bandage is removed, light face washing, bb cream, and sun lotion is allowed.

    - In case of fat removal, shower is possible after 7 days when stitches are removed, sauna is possible after 4 weeks.

    - Showering is possible after covering the surgical area with waterproof tape.

     

    SLEEPING

    - In case of swelling remaining, the body should be raised while sleeping, aiding swelling reduction.

    - Avoid applying pressure by not sleeping facedown.

     

    FACIAL SWELLING (degree of swelling can vary by individual)

    - Ice pack massage is prohibited on the fat inserted area.

    - Do not do facial massages.

    - Asymmetry can occur naturally due to swelling. Please wait a few days.

  • 9 Paranasal Augmentation Discharge Precautions

    DIET

    - Carbonated drinks and coffee are allowed after stitch removal, alcohol and smoking is prohibited for 1 month after surgery.

     

    FACE WASHING AND SHOWER

    - Face washing should be done gently while avoiding pressure, and be sure to not get the surgical area wet.

    - Light shower is possible but avoid long hot showers, saunas are prohibited for 1 month.

     

    TOOTH BRUSHING AND MOUTHWASH (Betadine mouthwash should be mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio)

    - For 1 day after surgery, rinse mouth with water and antiseptic mouthwash. Then, brush with a soft bristle toothbrush.

    - Toothpaste can be used starting the 2nd day after surgery.

    - Mouthwash should be used consistently used for 5~6 days.

     

    SLEEPING

    - In case of swelling remaining, the body should be raised 15 degrees while sleeping. This aids in comfortable swelling reduction.

    - 2-3 cushions, pillows or blankets placed on the back while sleeping is recommended.

    - Do not let your head drop. Avoid applying pressure on the surgical area. You should sleep lying on your back.

     

    FACIAL SWELLING (degree of swelling can vary by individual)

    - Swelling will start to subside after 1 week. 2~3 days after discharge, ice pack massage is required.

     

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

    - Take medication for the prescribed number of days. Medication should be taken 3 times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

    - Take painkillers only when pain is present and should be taken in 8~10 hour intervals.

    - Prescribed medication can be changed.

    ** Dissolvable medical thread is used during surgery and will naturally dissolve over time. If accidentally swallowed, no bodily harm will be done. If thread remains after 2 weeks, please visit and the clinic will remove it.

     

     

     

  • 10 Eye Surgery Precautions

    - Medicines that interfere with blood circulation (birth control, hormonal medicine, vitamin E, aspirin, etc.) should not be taken for at least 2 weeks before surgery. If you have high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, thyroid treatment, please tell the consultant and doctor before surgery.

    - Smoking can affect saliva, sneezing, and also cause bleeding after surgery. It is strongly recommended to stop smoking for at least 3 days before surgery. Furthermore, on the day of surgery if you have a bad cold and difficulty breathing, please inform the consultant and doctor before your surgery.

    - On the day of surgery it is recommended to carefully wash your entire body with gentle soap. Contact lenses, jewelry, accessories, manicure, makeup, etc. can interfere with the surgery and should be removed before arriving to the clinic. 

    Fasting, including water, gum, candy, and anything else that can be eaten should be done 6 hours before surgery (8 hours if the procedure requires anesthesia).

    - You should wear comfortable clothes that will not aggravate the surgical areas (please wear loose button-down shirts), mask, scarf, hat, sunglasses, and etc. should also be prepared. After surgery it may be difficult to drive, therefore it is recommended to have a guardian accompany you to the clinic.
